The KSEEB Class 10 Mathematics syllabus has released the essential topics for Class 10, also known as SSLC. Here is a list of some of the topics covered under Class 10:
Arithmetic Progression: In this subsection of Arithmetic Progression, students will be introduced to the derivation of the AP of the nth term and the sum of the first n terms of AP and their application in solving different types of problems.
Triangles: Different types of triangles, such as right-angled triangles, isosceles, and equilateral triangles. Here, students will learn about the triangle’s properties and their applications to different problems. Further, students are required to prove some theorems.
Circles: In this subsection of circles, students will learn about the properties of a circle and its applications to different types of problems. As per the topic, students are required to make a sketch and then explain.
Areas related to circles: Finding the area of a circle, segments of a circle, and sector area. Students will witness problems with areas, perimeter, and calculating the circle’s circumference. Further, there will be numerals on simple quadrilaterals, circles, and triangles.
Constructions: In this chapter, students are required to draw and construct the line segment in the given ratio, draw a tangent to a circle, and construct a triangle similar to a given triangle.
Pair of Linear equations in two variables: The linear equations are presented in two variables where students will need to find their solutions through graphical methods. This chapter includes a pair of linear equations in two variables algebraically and simple equations reducible to linear equations.
Quadratic Equations: Standard form of equation ax2+ bx + c =0, (a ≠0) and solutions for equations by using factorization method. Further, it includes the relationship between the discriminant and nature of roots and situational problems based on the equations.
Real Numbers: Coordinate geometry, graphs of linear equation and distance formula, section formula, and area of a triangle.
Polynomials: In this chapter, students will witness the relationship between zeros and coefficients of quadratic polynomials.
Introduction to Trigonometry: The ratio of an acute angle of a right-angled triangle. In addition, the evidence of their existence and the values of the trigonometric ratios of 30, 45, and 60 degrees.
Statistics: This chapter introduces essential topics such as mean, median and mode of grouped data. Furthermore, students will also witness problems related to cumulative frequency graphs.
Probability: Simple problems on single events and classical definition of probability.
Surface areas and volumes: Cubes, cuboids, spheres, hemispheres, and right circular cylinders/cones all have surfaces and volumes that can be combined—problems with combining no more than two different solids.
Covering all these essential topics of KSEEB Class 10 Mathematics syllabus will take a lot of focus, practice and determination. However, it will not help to score better marks if students don’t practise regularly; therefore, students can refer to the study materials by going through the links mentioned below:
