The chapter No Place for Us is about a boy named Jatreya. He lived in a small village known as Khedi, and his family consisted of three members: his father, his mother, and Jatreya himself. Kids in that village learned to play dhol, dance and play the flute, make vessels and other items from bamboo sticks and clay, and recognize birds and imitate their soothing sounds. His relatives suggested that Jatreya need not repair his one-room as he was unsure of permanently staying back in Mumbai. He was always worried, thinking about his future.
