What is a quarter: Half of half is called a quarter. When something whole is divided into 4 equal parts, one of the four equal parts is called a quarter. It is written as ¼ in a fraction and is read as ‘one by Four’.

To divide something having numerous parts into two equal parts, count the pieces for total parts, then divide them into two equal parts.

Example:

If a chocolate slab has 6 parts, it can be divided into 2 equal parts, and each will get 3 pieces.

Price list:

The price list is the list of current prices of products on sale.

Example:

1 kg of tomato = Rs 12

What is the price of ½ kg of tomato?

If 1 kg of tomato is Rs 12, then ½ kg tomato will be 12 ÷ 2 = Rs 6
