Chapter 1 – Kabir

Chapter 2 – Meera

According to folklore, Meera left her home and resided in Vrindavan to escape the harsh sorrows that had come into her life, and she became engrossed in Krishna’s affection. Her worship (Krishna) is evident in her works in the shape of a nirguna shapeless Brahma, i.e. a God who has no form;

Both of the lines included in this book are devoted to Meera’s worship of Shri Krishna. Meera also wrongly praises her Lord, adores him, and is not hesitant to punish her lord when necessary. She also appreciates Shri Krishna’s skills and tells him of his responsibilities.

Meerabai conveys Shri Krishna’s affection for the followers and her love for Shri Krishna in these lyrics. Meera requests Shri Krishna in the opening line, “Just as you destroyed Draupadi’s, Prahlad’s, and Airavat’s grief, reduce all my sufferings.” In the second stanza, Meera refuses to give up any possibility of meeting Shri Krishna; she is willing to become Shri Krishna’s female servant, create a garden, and describe Shri Krishna’s activities in public. She also desires to create tall palaces so that no opportunity for darshan is lost.

Chapter 3 – Bihari

The couplets shown are from the writer Bihari’s work “Bihari Satsai.” The poet has brilliantly woven together affection, politics, and beauty in this. The poet claims in the opening couplet that the dark body of Lord Krishna is lavishly decorated with sapphire-like perfume in the shape of yellow clothing. The poet depicts the intense heat in the 2nd couplet, claiming that it has turned the forest into a tapovan where each of the creatures is mingling and forgetting their enmity. The poet claims that the gopis have taken Lord Krishna’s flute in the 3rd couplet and conveys the gopis’ desire to converse with him. The poet tells how the protagonist and heroine talk to the audience even when they are surrounded by them in the fourth couplet.

The poet mentions the oppressive heat of June in the 5th couplet, saying that even the darkness has sought refuge in the thick greenery and buildings to find some relief. In the 6th couplet, the poet claims that the heroine wants to communicate with the protagonist, but is unable to put her separation into words or reveal it to anybody; instead, she asks the hero to guess it. You were born into the Chandra kingdom and came to Braj yourself, the poet says Lord Krishna in the sixth couplet. The poet exclaims You are much like my father, therefore eliminate all my difficulties, equating Lord Krishna to his father. In the final couplet, the poet urged readers to abandon deception in favour of genuine devotion to God, noting that this is the only thing that would delight God.

Chapter 4 – Maithali Sharn Gupt

In Chirgaon, close to Jhansi, Maithilisharan Gupta, a renowned poet, was born in 1886. He received his education at home in topics including Bengali, Marathi, Sanskrit and English. Rambhakt poet Maithilisharan Gupta attempted to depict Indian life in his poetry.

Through his poetry, Maithilisharan Gupta Ji worked tirelessly to transform Khari Boli into a poetic tongue. This is Gupta Ji’s most significant contribution to Hindi poetry. His poetry reflects a sense of social conscience, religious sensibility and human elevation. He had a deep love for Indian tradition and heritage. All of his works are so infused with state ideology.

In the poem Manavta, poet Maithilisharan Gupta viewed the same individual to be a person who lives and dies for the good of others in addition to himself. The kind-hearted person becomes everlasting in society even after death because such a guy is remembered for years for his good actions even after burial.

Chapter 5 – Sumitranandan Pant

The mountains’ trees seem to be reaching out to touch the clear sky as they gaze at it. After the rainfall, the weather has changed to the point that the thick haze makes it look as if the trees have vanished, and the smoke all around makes it appear as though the lake has caught fire. Indra seems to be travelling about in such conditions while flying his cloud-like aircraft and seeing a magic trick.

Chapter 6 – Mahadevi Verma

The poetess expresses via her poem that the candle of my mind—her metaphor for her trust in God—sweetly and compassionately brightens the road of knowledge.  Spread your aroma or your goodwill, similarly to how an incense stick disperses its scent. That is to state, the shadows of ignorance are extremely deep, therefore to eradicate it both mind and body should devote themselves. Your light should have no boundaries, and in this manner, every particle of your water body should transmit light.

However, despite possessing so much water, the ocean continues to break his heart. In the same manner that clouds shower with the assistance of lightning on the whole planet, the poetess states that in her mind, despite having this much water, it is useless to anybody. Chapter 7 – Viren Dangwal

The current poem serves as a reminder that the East India Company previously travelled to India intending to do commerce. Although she was accepted in India, she eventually came to govern us. They also manufactured cannons if they built any gardens. This 1857 weapon, which is now maintained near the Company Bagh’s entry, is said by the poet to be in good condition.
