The ICSE Modern Foreign Language Syllabus is divided into two parts. . 

• Examination
• Assessment 

The Examination section of the Class 10   th Modern Foreign Language Syllabus includes the following topics:

Examination:

• Students must compose a brief composition that includes directions, explanations, narratives, or descriptions for the Examination composition.
• Students are required to draft a formal or informal letter. The letter’s appropriate formatting is one of the marking criteria.
• Students are given an unknown 150-word passage  in the comprehension section. Students must read the passage and answer questions based on it.
• Sentence construction, vocabulary, and idioms are all included in the grammar section. On the other hand, students are not required to answer  the precise grammatical definitions.
• Students must translate a text from a foreign language into English, often known as dialogue writing. Dialogue writing assignments are given based on real-life scenarios.

• Group II’s Environmental Science (EVS) and Group III’s Environmental Applications cannot be combined.
• Similarly, Group III economic applications cannot be combined with Group II economics
•  Students are not permitted to study  Commercial Applications in Group III and Commercial Studies in Group I simultaneouslyI. .
• Each  group’s Sanskrit as a Classical language in group II and Sanskrit as a second language in group I cannot be blended.
