What is Urethane?
Urethane Formula is a carbamate-linked organic polymer chain. It is made by polymerising ethanol and carbamic acid. It is primarily employed as a coating and adhesive. It is found in the form of a white powder or a colourless crystal.

It is primarily used in the production of amino resins, but it is also used in the production of pesticides, fumigants, cosmetics, and medications. Furthermore, urethane exposure can be harmful to the central nervous system, liver, and bone marrow. In general, urethane is a human carcinogen.

Urethane Formula has the chemical formula NH2COOC2H5 and the molecular formula C3H7NO2.

Physical Properties of Urethane
- Urethane Formula is initially observed as odourless, colourless crystals or as a white powder.
- It easily sublimates at 217 °F and 54 mm Hg.
- A saline flavour that is refreshing. The second type is colourless, columnar crystals or white granular powder.
- It tastes bitter, cold, and saline.
- Its boiling point ranges from 360 to 363 °F at 760 mm Hg.
- Its melting point ranges from 118 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
- It has a flashpoint temperature of 198 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Its solubility at 72° F is greater than or equal to 100 mg/mL. Finally, the density at 70 degrees F is 0.9862.
Chemical Properties of Urethane
Polyurethane and water are formed when Urethane Formula reacts with ethyl alcohol.
During the combustion of urethane, ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water are produced.
Use Of Urethane
