Secant Formula
An important area of Mathematics is trigonometry. On the basis of a right-angled triangle, it defines six trigonometric ratios. The sine, cosine, and tangent trigonometric ratios are the three widely used and well-known ones. Secant, cosecant, and cotangent are three additional ratios, though. Three of these six trigonometry ratios are fundamental, and the remaining three are derived. The cosine ratio is used to calculate secant. The ratio of the hypotenuse’s length to the length of the adjacent side determines the secant of any angle in a right-angled triangle. Its abbreviation in formulas is “sec.” The secant method does not always converge because, unlike the bisection method, it does not demand that the root remain bracketed. When the cosine function is equal to zero, the secant function is undefined. Sec2x + Tan2x = 1 is the Pythagorean theorem used to determine the secant value.
