CUET 2023 Exam – Check CUET UG Exam Latest Updates from NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) was established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI), as an independent, autonomous, and self-sufficient prestigious testing organisation under the Societies Registration Act (1860), for the purpose of conducting effective, transparent, and international standardised tests to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions. A system that promotes teaching (by instructors), learning (by students), and assessment has been developed by the NTA. NTA firmly supports the validity, reliability, accuracy, fairness, and security of assessments. NTA regularly interacts with its stakeholders and partner institutions, in order to put these beliefs into effect.

It was founded in November 2017 in accordance with the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The Ministry of Education (MoE), the Government of India (GOI), and other organisations are involved in this, giving the NTA the authority to evaluate a student’s eligibility through a variety of examinations held in India. As a renowned testing agency that is independent, autonomous, and self-sufficient, the National Testing Agency was established. It aims to ensure the efficient, transparent, and seamless operation of several entrance examinations, primarily determining a candidate’s eligibility for admission to different institutions.

Before the establishment of the centralised institution, many inconsistencies and inefficiency were evident in the process of organising national-level competitive examinations in the country. The Government of India made the decision to establish NTA in order to promote changes with regard to the systematisation of the examination process and to enhance the organisation of the educational system. A commendable level of transparency and accountability with regard to the system of examinations in the nation is maintained by having a reliable agency for conducting examinations. This organisation should be capable of organising both formal and informal examinations. It is noteworthy that, India had many organisations before 2017 that conducted various sorts of examinations.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), a test that is taken by all students applying for admission to various Central Universities across India. By giving students a single-window chance to enrol in these prestigious universities across the nation, it streamlines the admissions process, makes it more user-friendly for students, and does away with entrance tests of various levels of difficulty.  Under the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2022) is being implemented for admission into all UG Programs in all Central Universities for the academic session 2022–2023. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will give applicants nationwide, especially those from rural and other distant places, a uniform platform, and equitable possibilities, and it will also improve the government’s association with universities. Student candidates would be able to participate in the admissions process for several Central Universities by taking only one test.
