CBSE Class VI Computer Science Chapter 6 – Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is the word processor component of Microsoft Office that allows users to create and save documents. When a word does not fit in a line, it automatically shifts to the beginning of the next line. This is known as word wrapping.

To select the text using mouse, double click on the word. To copy text, select the text. Right click the mouse and click on Copy. To paste the text, take the cursor to the desired position. Right click the mouse and click on Paste. To move the text, select the text. Right click the mouse and click on Cut. To paste the text, take the cursor to the desired position and right click the mouse. A drop down list will appear. Click on the Paste option.

Formatting is used to change the size, colour and the type of the font. To make the text bold, select the text and click on B. To make the text italic, click on I. To underline the text, click on U.

A table is a grid made up of rows and columns that you can fill with text and graphics. There are three ways to create a table: by using a grid, by using Insert table option and by using a Draw table option. WordArt is a text modifying feature in MS Word. It includes effects such as Shadows, Outlines, Colours, Gradients, and 3-D Effects. WordArt can also bend, stretch, skew, or modify the shape of a text. ClipArt refers to the picture files that can be inserted in a document.
