Defects of Eye
- Colour blindness occurs due to a deficiency in which an individual is not able to distinguish between certain specific colours. Genetic factors are one of the most common causes. Disturbance occurs when the amount of pigment per cone is reduced or absent.
- Nyctalopia is the inability of an individual to see in relatively low light. The deficiency of vitamin A is one of the most common causes of this disease.
- The opacity in the crystalline lens of the eye is known as a cataract. It can develop due to several reasons such as exposure to UV rays, radiation, etc.
- A condition in which a person cannot see near objects clearly but has a clear vision for distant objects is known as hypermetropia.
- Myopia is a condition in which a person cannot see distant objects.
- Astigmatism is one of the commonly occurring eye diseases in which disaster images are formed as the light rays are unable to meet a common focus.

The deflection of the electromagnetic wave caused by the earth’s atmosphere fluctuation in air density as a function of altitude is called atmospheric refraction.
Scattering of light:
As the light passes from one medium to another some of it is absorbed by the particle’s medium before radiating into a specific direction. This phenomenon is known as the scattering of light.
