So, what’s the flipped classroom approach all about? Simply put, it is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to curricular content at home and they practice working on it through hands-on activities at school. Teachers will typically introduce learning content through online videos or pre-recorded lectures, which allows students to spend their time in the classroom engaging in active learning. But, what exactly does active learning mean in this context? Essentially, in the flipped classroom approach teachers focus on conducting activities like group discussions, quiz sessions, case studies or presentations, making classroom time a more experiential process for students. It encourages students to learn by thinking, discussing, investigating, creating and being active participants rather than mere listeners in their academic journey. |
