Extramarks Youth Football Championship Concludes with Victorious Teams at Emirates Stadium
The Extramarks Youth Football Championship (YFC) in partnership with Arsenal F.C. recently concluded with a thrilling finale at the prestigious Emirates Stadium in London. The event brought together over 4900 school students from across India, promoting sports as an integral part of holistic learning. With Delhi Public School, Bangalore North emerging as the girls’ champions and Amenity Public School, Rudrapur clinching the boys’ title, the tournament showcased the immense potential and passion for football in India.
The YFC tournament journey was divided into three phases. It began with qualifier matches held from November 2022 through February 2023 in more than 50 cities across India. The top-performing teams from the qualifiers advanced to the zonal finals in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru. Following that, the semi-finals took place in Goa in April, leading up to the grand finals at Emirates Stadium in London in June.
In a highly competitive match, Delhi Public School, Bangalore North, hailing from Bengaluru, emerged victorious in the girls’ category. Their outstanding performance throughout the tournament led them to claim the prestigious title. On the boys’ side, Amenity Public School, Rudrapur, showcased their exceptional skills and emerged as the triumphant team in an intense battle. These teams faced tough competition from over 550 schools across the country during the qualifiers phase, making their victories even more commendable.
The final match, held at the iconic Emirates Stadium, was a spectacle to behold. The event witnessed the presence of legendary Arsenal Player Kelly Smith and Bhaichung Bhutia, the chief mentor of YFC. The young students had the opportunity to play at an international-level stadium, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

He described the experience of reaching the finals in London as a dream come true and thanked the organizers for their unwavering support throughout the journey.
